Review of Theory and Praxis of Music

Nikolaos Boukas

He studied Historical Musicology at the University of Pavia (Università degli Studi di Pavia – Scuola di Paleografia e Filologia Μusicale) and completed his PhD at the Music Studies Department of the Ionian University. Since October 2000 he teaches History of Music and Fundamental Music Theory as a Scientific Collaborator at the Department of Sound and Musical Instruments Technology of the Technological Educational Institute of the Ionian Islands. In January 2007 he was elected Assistant Professor at the above-mentioned department. From October 2006 until 2011 he was also teaching at the School of Humanities of the Hellenic Open University (Greek Culture Studies, subject: Arts II, Review of the Greek Music and Dance). Until now, his scientific activity is presented in papers published in various scientific journals, in scientific conferences and lectures. During the last years his scientific / research interest has been focused on the folk and sacred music tradition of Kefalonia.
