Vasilis Kallis
Holder of a Ph.D. in Music Theory and Analysis from the University of Nottingham and an M.A. in Music Theory
from Queens College of the City University of New
York. Teacher of music in secondary education in Cyprus until 2002. Since September 2002 he has been teaching courses in
Counterpoint, Harmony and Form at the University of
Macedonia. His specialties include twentieth-century compositional techniques, and compositional methods of the
Russian Nationalists and Stravinsky, the French Impressionists and other Eastern-European composers. In addition, he composes music and participates in concerts as a
guitarist and a vocalist.
