George O. Kosteletos

He was born in 1975 in Athens. He studied Physics in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (School of Physics and Mathematics, Department of Physics), graduating in 1999. In 2000 he completed his studies on piano performance taking his piano diploma from Panarmonion Conservatory ( Athens ). In the academic year 2000-2001 he was accepted for post-graduate studies in the University of York (U.K.), where he obtained a Master of Science in Music Technology. Returning to Greece, he studied music theory and counterpoint in Panarmonion Conservatory from 2002 to 2006. In 2011 he completed his doctoral thesis taking a PhD in the Philosophy of Mind, Artificial Intelligence and Art (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology, Sector of Philosophy). For the last two years George Kosteletos has been teaching Bioethics (with a specialization to neuro-ethics) in the postgraduate course of Ethics (Sector of Philosophy, Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). In the present academic year he is also teaching Philosophy of Mind and Artificial Intelligence in Plato’s Academy (Life Learning Program for university graduates). Apart from teaching Philosophy in university level, he has been teaching Physics in high-school students since 2001. Since 2012 he has been participating in the Do.Re.Mat. project, an international project funded by the European Community, aiming at the development of teaching methods of Mathematics via Music for 15-16 years old high school students. His scientific interests involve, among others, the examination of the philosophical aspects of modern research and practice in the field of Music Technology. This has been the subject of several lectures of his to the postgraduate and PhD students of Music Technology in the Music Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
