(Musicología)
Review of Theory and Praxis of Music

Irmgard Lerch-Kalavrytinos

She studied physics and musicology at the Georg-August University of Göttingen, Germany. She took her doctorate with Ursula Günther, with a dissertation on the Cambrai fragments, a French musical manuscript of the 14th century. Since 1991 she has been teaching historical musicology in Greece, at the Ionian University of Corfu and later at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where at present she is Associate Professor. Her publications concern musical life and European music in Greece in the 19th and 20th centuries, medieval polyphony in general and problems of its notation, and questions of music librarianship.
