Eustathios Makris

Born in 1966. He studied musicology at the University of Thessaloniki and at the University of Vienna, where he specialised in Byzantine music, obtaining the Ph.D. degree in 1996 (supervisor: Prof. Christian Hannick). He worked at the Music Library of Greece “Lilian Voudouri” (1997-1999) and taught History and Theory of Byzantine Music at the Music Department of the University of Thessaloniki (1999-2001). Since 2000 he has been working at the Hellenic Folklore Research Centre of the Athens Academy, holding the title of Music Researcher.
