Panayiotis Matzoulas

He was born in Thessaloniki in 1973. He is a graduate of the Department of Musical Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 1990 got his diploma in Harmony. In 1995 he participated in the European student exchange program Erasmus and spent a semester as a scholar at the Free University of Berlin (Institute of Musicology). His thesis was entitled Johannes Brahms’ Life and Works, Particularly Those for Solo Piano. In 1997 got his diploma in Classical Piano. In 1999 he was accepted as a postgraduate student in the Department of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, choosing Philosophy of Music as his major. His final paper concerns Eduard Hanslick’s essay Vom Musikalisch-Schönen.
