Stelios Psaroudakēs

He holds a Piano Recital Diploma (Athens Conservatoire, class of Charis Kladakē, 1986), a MMus in Ethnomusicology (University of London, 1988), and a PhD in Ancient Hellenic Music (University of Reading, 1995). He taught piano for three years at Colchester Institute, Essex, England, at the level of Bachelor of Arts (1989-1992). He taught archaeomusicology for four years as an Academic Assistant (Presidential Decree 407/80) at the Department of Music Studies of the University of Athens (1994-1998). He was appointed Lecturer of Ancient Hellenic Music in the Department in 1998. He was promoted to the post of Assistant Professor in 2004. He attained permanency in 2008. He teaches harmonic and rhythmic theory and notation of ancient Hellenic music. He researches into and reconstructs ancient Hellenic music instruments, and offers a series of related educational programmes to pupils of elementary and high schools (grms.gr).
