Skalkottas’ Work Today

The major part of Nikos Skalkottas’ work has been for a long time basically ignored, especially by the musical life in Greece. During the last years Skalkottas’ works are “rediscovered” worldwide, while at the same time the value of his creation takes its place in the music of the 20^th century. The place of Skalkottas’ works in the Greek music is examined in relation with the musicological research, the criticism, the musical and concert life, and the publications as well.
