Memories from my Studies with Egon Wellesz

The speaker relates his reminiscences from the years he studied by a great musicologist and composer, in a manner that perceives science and art interwoven in life. He describes Wellesz’s scientific research in Byzantine music, in Schönberg’s school etc., as well as his methodological views and his compositions, in connection to his period’s atmosphere and mood. From within a comprehensive frame of multiple connections emerge Wellesz’s involvement and devotion in the varied fields that attracted him, referring to the humanistic essence of this frame.
