Born in Bonn in 1963, he studied the piano as well as architecture in Athens and London. Since 1995 he is the music critic of the daily Kathimerini, where he has been working since 1988. He has collaborated as well with the dailies To Vima (1989) and Anagnostis (1991). Since 1997 he is a member of the Theatre and Music Reviewers Association of Greece, of which he was a representative at the 4th Music Festival of Mediterranean Countries, held in Palermo (1997). Since 1997 he is member of the Committee deciding on the Association annual prizes.
He reviews concerts and CDs of classical music for the periodical Echos (since 1984). In 1986-1987 he collaborated with the periodical To Tetarto, and since 1992 he works for the Austrian periodical Der neue Merker. In 1992-1997 he was a radio producer for the Third Program of the Greek Radio Broadcasting. He has also been a producer for the Radio Stations SKY 100,4 (1992-1993) and 94,4 En Lefko (1998). He collaborates with the Publications Departments of the Athens Concert Hall (since 1992), the Greek National Opera (since 1993) and the Athens Festival (since 1998). He has delivered lectures at the Greek National Opera, and co-organized a series of lectures-projections in the Goethe Institute of Athens, commemorating the 125 years of the Bayreuth Festival. He is regularly attending this festival since 1990, as well as the summer festivals of Salzburg, Pesaro, Glyndebourne, Bregenz and Innsbruck. Recently, he collaborated with the new edition of Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart (MGG).
