Born in 1944. In 1985 she founded and has since edited the journal Musicology. Ph.D. in Music Aesthetics from the University of Frankfurt. Professor at the Music Department of the University of Athens, and consultant on Greek music for the encyclopaedia Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart (MGG). Consultant at the Music Library “Lilian Voudouri” of the Athens Concert Hall. Fields of research: Western musicology, musical aesthetics, sociology and philosophy, music pedagogy, and 19th- and 20th-century Greek music.
