After studies in physics and musicology at the University of Göttingen / Germany, with Heinrich Husmann, Rudolf Maria Brandl, Ursula Günther and others, and an education as scientific librarian, she worked as member of the research staff for a programme of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft concerning Ars Nova music. She took the degree of Dr.Phil. with a dissertation in the same field under the supervision of Ursula Günther. Since 1991 she has been teaching historical musicology, initially at the University of Athens, then at the Ionian University of Corfu, where she is Assistant Professor of the Music Department. Her publications deal mainly with the music and musical notation of the Ars Nova, with composers of the 19th century in Greece, and historical aspects of Greek music publishing.
