Arc, an issue dedicated to the bicentenary of Beethoven’s birth. Object of this paper is a sociological discussion and psychograph of the extra-musical reasoning in
Beethoven’s personality. At the same time it provided a contemporary point of view for the musicological research on the semantics of
Beethoven’s work, even though research on extra-musical elements in
Beethoven’s work had already its own history.
