These two classical essays of Adorno, translated by Olympia Psychopedis-Frangou and included here as a tribute to the centenary since the author’s birth, have had a great influence on the musicological research on Schubert and Beethoven and are taken from his self-assembled collection Μoments musicaux (Neugedruckte Aufsätze 1928-1962), Suhrkamp, Frankfurt am Main 1964).
