Athens Concert Hall, 4-6 November 2003
Music analysis in the field of comparative musicology differs as for its methodology from the one that takes place in the field of historical musicology, for reasons that are determined by its inquiring object itself. Objective of the lecture is, on the one side, to show the methodological particularity of musical analysis in the field of oral musical cultures, on the other side, to present the problems of explanatory tradition, and, finally, to determine the contribution of musical analysis as for the comprehension of a musical culture and its possibility of comparison with others.
