Pyrros Bamichas

He was born in Athens in 1969. He holds a Ph.D. in Musicology awarded by the University of Athens (2002). After three years of postgraduate study at the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom) he was also awarded the degrees of M.A. in Musicology (1996) and M.Phil. in Baroque Paleography and Editing (1998). He is also a graduate of the University of Piraeus (Department of Economics) and the “National Conservatory” (Diploma of Fugue). Topics as secular and sacred music of the early and main baroque era, keyboard music from the 16th to 18th centuries, and Music Theory from 16th to 17th centuries, are listed among his research interests. His doctoral dissertation Galeazzo Sabbatini (1597[?]-1662): His Life and Works is going to be published by the University of Athens.
