Nikolas Lagoumitzis

Born in Patras in 1962. Doctor of Music at the University of Sorbonne (Paris-I): Ph. D. – Department of Arts and Artistic Sciences, Subfaculty of Music, D.E.A. – Department of Musical Aesthetics. He completed his basic music studies in the Hellenic and National Conservatories of Athens, earning diplomas in Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue, and Piano. Alongside his musical studies, he received his degree in Civil Engineering from the School of Polytechnic (Polytechneion) at the University of Patras. His doctoral dissertation (Beethovens Piano Sonatas: View on the Evolution of the Interpretation of op. 2 no 1, op. 53 and op. 111 in the 20th Century) is to be published by the French publishing house LHarmattan (collection Arts et Sciences de lArt). He is a member of the Advisory Board of Musicology. Research interests: music theory, morphology, analysis, musical aesthetics, piano and musical interpretation pedagogy.
