Christoph Stroux

Born in Munich. He studied musicology at the Humboldt University, Berlin (diploma 1954) and at the University of Freiburg (Dr.Phil. 1967, thesis: Die Musica Poetica des Magisters Heinrich Faber). From 1954 to 1967 he was a member of the editorial staff of the Riemann Musiklexikon (12th edition, 1959-1967) and from 1967 to 1970 Assistant at the University of Freiburg. He then taught as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Port Elizabeth (1970-1979) and at the University of South Africa, Pretoria (1980-1991). In 1992 he settled in Athens, where he is since 1994 director of the Music Library of Greece. Christoph Stroux is a member of the Advisory Boards of Musicology (Musicología) and Moussikos Loghos.
