In Search of Form in the Contemporary Musical Work

This text was read by Michalis Adamis on the occasion of his nomination as Honorary Doctor of the University of Athens on June 7, 2004. It develops some central issues concerning his methods of composition and mainly the integration of Byzantine and electro-acoustic music in a new plastic and dynamic musical form. A new approach is also given to the aesthetical topic of the relation between the Traditional and the New.
